Nalvin in Slack
How do I sign up for Nalvin? Nalvin is currently in beta, and available to install by simple pressing get started. You will then be taken through an onboarding that lets you install Nalvin in your Slack Workspace. During the beta period, Nalvin is free for all beta customers. Note that a paid Slack plan is required to use the Agent & Assistant functionality in Nalvin.
How do I install Nalvin? You'll need permission to install apps in your Slack workspace, and on the platforms you'd like to connect (e.g. GitHub, Jira, Linear). You can always disconnect or change these connections from the Integrations tab in Nalvin. We set up a quick call with every new team, so if you run into any issues, we'll get them sorted!
Using Nalvin How do I interact with Nalvin? There are two ways to interact with Nalvin:
Direct Messages (1:1): Chat directly with Nalvin without needing to mention it in every message. Find the Nalvin app in your Slack sidebar and simply send a message.
Channels: Mention @Nalvin to bring it into any channel conversation, then mention it again for each follow-up question.
What is a "thread" in Nalvin? A thread represents a single chat thread with Nalvin. Each new chat starts a fresh thread. For best results, start a new thread when shifting to a different topic, as Nalvin's context may drift in lengthy threads.
Can I schedule recurring insights? Yes! During the beta, you can request scheduled insights such as.
Weekly Product Updates
Daily Stand-Ups
Repository activity summaries
Note that some of these require help from the Nalvin team to set-up. To do that simply book an onboarding slot here: Nalvin Onboarding
