Using Nalvin in Slack

Overview

Nalvin works directly in Slack so your team can ask questions, assign tasks, and receive updates without leaving chat. Whether in channels, threads, or DMs, Nalvin keeps product work visible and conversations connected.

You can install Nalvin by pressing Get Started, which launches an onboarding flow that connects it to your Slack workspace.

Ask Questions
Get instant answers from Nalvin about tickets, feedback, or product documentation right inside Slack.

Receive Updates
Sprint summaries, release notes, and project reports are automatically posted into the right Slack channels.

Give Nalvin Tasks
Ask Nalvin to draft updates, generate reports, or summarize meetings directly in chat.

Nalvin can join project channels, threads for ongoing discussions, or DMs for personal support.

How It Works

The Slack integration connects Nalvin to your workspace so it can act like a teammate. You can:

  • Ask Nalvin for context or answers in any channel or DM

  • Post updates from Linear, Jira, GitHub, or feedback sources into Slack automatically

  • Assign follow-ups by messaging Nalvin directly

  • Get recurring summaries and reports delivered to your channels

Direct Messages (1:1)
Find the Nalvin app in your Slack sidebar and chat directly without needing to @mention each time.

Channels
Mention @Nalvin in any channel to bring it into the conversation. Mention it again for follow-up questions.

Threads
Each thread with Nalvin represents a focused chat. For best results, start a new thread when switching to a different topic.

Configuration

Notes

  • You must have permission to install apps in your Slack workspace

  • You’ll also need permissions for other platforms you connect (e.g. GitHub, Jira, Linear)

  • You can disconnect or change integrations anytime from the Integrations tab in Nalvin

Setup

  1. Go to app.nalvin.com/Integrations

  2. Click the Slack icon and press Get Started

  3. Follow the onboarding flow to install Nalvin
